The Experiences in Close Relationships–Relationship Structures questionnaire (ECR-RS), by R. Chris Fraley and colleagues, measures attachment anxiety and avoidance across relationships. We administer General separately, followed by Mother, Father, Partner, and Best friend. You may skip any section.
Each section has nine statements rated 1–7. Statements are shuffled within each online section; their scoring IDs remain unchanged. The printable version uses the original order to make self-scoring clear.
All nine answers are required to score a section here; missing sections are NA, and answers are never imputed. This completeness policy and making all sections optional are workshop choices, not additional validated scoring rules.
The author’s current approach measures general attachment directly.
Research papers and further reading are collected at the end of the facilitator guide.
Your choices and your privacy
Answers and personal results are held in this browser tab only. They are cleared when you close or reload it. No analytics, advertising trackers, response histories, or personal profiles are added by this site.
If you opt in to sharing, the database stores ten scores (or NA), one submission time, and a random record ID. The administrator can filter, print, export, add consented paper scores, or delete those records. Individual item answers and email addresses are never included in that database.
Dates and small groups can make records recognizable. Keep your record ID to request deletion; the site cannot look up your submission by name or email.
PDFs are generated on participants' devices and are not uploaded. Participants may share them through their own mail app or attach them to an email. The site has no email service and collects no email address. Hosting providers may retain operational logs under their own policies.
